Reviving the Indian Cuisine

Culture and customs

The Official Blog

India is a land of 1.2 billion people; that is almost 1/6th of the entire world’s population. We’re bound to have our own cuisine, don’t we? . All our friends who have been to foreign countries such as the United States, Australia, Canada know the “Indian” Restaurants located at those places. Ask a foreigner (educated or otherwise) , what is Indian Cuisine. You’ll get multiple answers from Rice, flatbreads(Rotis) to spicy curries and kebabs. But alas, they are right and wrong at the same time.

India has long been touted as a Sub-continent owing to the enormity of diversities which exist within our great nation. We are a union of 29 states and 7 Union territories. According to Census of India of 2001, India has 122 major languages of which 22 are recognized. With such a huge culture. So now, what about our food.

As always, Wikipedia gets it right.
