I have never been a big fan of sloppy joes because it was a weekly meal in my elementary school cafeteria. That was until I came across this recipe which has a great taste and has been requested multiple times by the group of volunteers that I am working with. I am proud to have made an American meal that the German gal Alina enjoys so much! So here it is —
1 pound of ground beef or turkey
1/2 to whole red onion
1/2 chopped bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon mustard
3/4 cup ketchup
3 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Brown the onion, bell pepper, and meat.
Stir in the garlic powder, ginger, cayenne, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar.
It’s a pretty simple recipe and not to hard to mess up…
